A New Year or Another year?
2012 is coming to a close and all the concerns about the Mayan end of the world have been set aside. A new year is coming and no one really knows what it will bring. For some people it will just be another year, more of the same of what they have experienced year after year. Nothing drastic will happen, maybe a few new things will come their way but really life will go on as it always has. The mundane life will continue. I don't believe that this is what God has planned for us nor wants us to experience. He is a God of surprises, a God who delights in giving us the desires of our heart. He wants us to experience the life He has for us and enjoy His fellowship at a more intimate level in the coming year. This past year for me personally has been very fulfilling. I have had the pleasure of working with several groups at our
YWAM Antigua base, reaching out to our community through many forms of ministry. I have had the privilege of traveling in the USA this past summer on my motorcycle, visiting friends and ministries that I hope to partner with in ministry in the future. Another wonderful experience was working with our Discipleship Training School for 5 months, from the end of July until mid December. Our group spent the last 2 months of our program in India and we had a very fruitful time of ministry. God has blessed my life in many ways and I am grateful to Him for his goodness and grace each day. The Bible says we go from "glory to glory" and that is not a static state but a dynamic state of change. William Carey is one of my heroes of the faith. He felt the call of God to go to India to reach the lost. God used him in ways he did not envision when he left England for India. He made the statement, "Attempt great things for God, expect great things from God." As we move into 2013 I pray that this will also be our mindset. God has great things planned for us, greater things are still to come. May your life be one that is available to Him and one that He uses to accomplish His will and purposes in the next year.
